This marathon is the result of weeks of dedicated planning by the members of Why So Serious?. We have decided that it is time to give back to the community that we love so much in our gaming. It is time for everyone to be held responsible for the community that we thrive off of. Games have given us so much and now it's time to give back. This marathon will be a 100 hour live broadcast to raise money for Child's Play. We will be playing dozens of games, giving away a ton of swag and games, and trying to raise some money in the process. We will be broadcasting live on Justin.tv for all the world to see and donate. We want nothing more out of this than to see the future be a little brighter for the kids. Child's Play is an awesome charity that we looked into extensively. Their main goal? Make recovery easier on kids. How do they do that? By donating video games and consoles to children's hospitals all over the world. These kids may not be able to move or get out of bed for days if not weeks after their surgeries or procedures and TV can only entertain for so long. The one thing these kids can do is game. It keeps their minds off their situation for a minute and may make their life that much better. This is the true Gamers Charity. They have already raised millions in their effort to help kids all over the world and now it is more important than ever to support their cause. Kids deserve the right to be kids. That is why Child's Play is so amazing. Learn more about Child's Play at the Child's Play Charity Site It will be kicking off on Wednesday October 14th at 12:00 Noon EST. It will run the entire 100 hours until October 18th at 4:00PM EST. We will be gaming, talking with the viewers in Justin.tv, and promoting an awesome cause. We will be playing Playing Uncharted 2 and going for platinum in the first week. That is the ultimate goal on the gaming side. We will be playing plenty of other widely popular games such as Fat Princess, Killzone 2, and whatever else we can get our hands on. With 100 hours there will be plenty of gaming to be viewed. Of course! Why so Serious? can't do anything without having a little bit of fun during it. We will be running trivia contests for swag from all sorts of popular developers. That means shirts, hats, buttons, pins, and all other sorts of gear. Also we can't ever do something small so we will be running some other kinds of contests to give away GREAT PS3 titles like Fight Night Round 4, Infamous, GTA IV, Dead Space, and Mirror's Edge! Yes we will be giving away not two or three, but 5 different PS3 titles! Seeing as this is Why So Serious? you know we have a few tricks up our sleeve that you won't know about unless you watch the cast! EVERYWHERE! But seriously, we are going to be broadcasting on our Justin.tv Channel. We will also be collecting donations there and here at our brand new domain! Ya we are launching a whole new website just for this charity event. Who would have known that a group of chuckleheads like us could pull that off? Well above all, this is for the kids. We want to raise as much for them as we can. We really think this is a noble and wonderful cause. We think they deserve a fundraiser of this caliber, and we are never ones to only go part of the way. Our clan founded itself on the ideas of fun, fair play, and dedication to making the gaming community a better place. This is just one more way that Why So Serious? is trying to make the world a little better. Glad you asked! Well the first thing of course is to donate! That is the main reason for all this and we really want to raise as much as we can for an awesome charity! There are of course other ways to get involved though! Here is a nice little list! (Don't say I never did anything nice for you!)
That being said, join us for our cast. It is a new direction for a gaming clan and should be a lot of fun. We realize that you may not be able to donate in this time, but hanging out with us is always welcome at Why so Serious? Contact Us With Questions or Comments HERE |
